Curious Matter is an artist-run exhibition and project space for contemporary art located in downtown Jersey City, New Jersey. Founded in 2007 by artists Raymond E. Mingst and Arthur Bruso, the organization develops exhibitions, publications, and public programs.

Curious Matter brings together artists, writers, and audiences in sustained engagement with artistic practice, publishing, and cultural exchange. In addition to exhibitions, the organization produces catalogues, artist monographs, broadsides, and printed matter emerging from its ongoing programs and inquiries.

Thoughtful exhibition and curatorial proposals are welcome. Prospective collaborators are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the organization’s work prior to corresponding.

Curious Matter LLC is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a nonprofit arts service organization. Contributions in support of Curious Matter may be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
