Curious Matter is an exhibition and project space for contemporary art located in downtown Jersey City, NJ, founded in 2007 by artists Raymond E. Mingst and Arthur Bruso. The gallery presents exhibitions and offers curatorial opportunities to artists at all career stages. Curious Matter also publishes catalogues, artist monographs, and broadsides.

We welcome exhibition proposals and respond to thoughtful inquiries. A visit to our website and ideally the gallery should precede any correspondence. Include in your proposal a letter stating why you are interested in exhibiting or curating at Curious Matter, your specific idea for an exhibition and appropriate support materials. Emails that only include a web link won’t be considered. If you would like postal materials returned please include a SASE.
