Jersey City, NJ - Mark your calendars for a lively and inspiring talk with artist and writer Tom McGlynn and artist Arthur Bruso on the occasion of Bruso’s one-person exhibition 'Returning' at Curious Matter. The event will take place on Sunday, November 12, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm.

Curious Matter artist talks have become must-attend events for contemporary art lovers of all stripes, known for both their intelligence and warm welcome. Gallery co-founder and curator of “Returning”, Raymond E. Mingst expresses his enthusiasm: “We couldn’t be more thrilled and honored to have Tom McGlynn lead a conversation with Arthur [Bruso]. They share aesthetic interests and draw diverse and far-reaching inspirations.”

Tom McGlynn’s work is represented in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, and The Cooper- Hewitt National Design Museum of the Smithsonian among other national and international collections. He is currently an Editor at Large at The Brooklyn Rail, contributing articles and criticism since 2012. He opened his third one -person show of new paintings at Rick Wester Fine Arts, NYC in May of 2023. He is the recipient of a 2023 Individual Artist Fellowship from the Jersey City Arts Council.

Arthur Bruso has exhibited at the New Jersey State Museum at Trenton, Institute of Contemporary Art Philadelphia, the Rice Gallery at Albany Institute of History and Art, LaMamma LaGalleria in New York and many other venues. He received his MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. He currently is co-Director of Curious Matter, a not-for-profit exhibition and project space.
